Coords Picker
Click the RDR2 map for x, y, z and a heading, copy them as vector3, vector4 or JSON, and see the state, district, town and water there.
Read the docsHow to use it
Click the map to drop a point, then drag from the selected point to aim its heading (0 is north, 90 is west, the way GetEntityHeading counts). Copy the point as vector3, vector4, JSON or a bare x, y, z. Points stay in this browser until you clear them; with two or more you also get a Lua table of all of them.
Where z comes from
z is read from the game's heightmap, which stores two heights for every 8 m cell: the lowest point (Ground) and the highest (Top, which includes roofs and tree tops). Ground is picked by default. Inside a town or on a slope the true floor can be a few metres off, so treat z as a starting point and type the exact value once you have stood there in game.
Zones
The state, district, town and water body at a point come from mapzones.meta. The zone hash is joaatof the zone name, which is what _GET_MAP_ZONE_AT_COORDS returns; its type numbers follow the CMapZone type list in the RDR3 native database.
